«Our workgroup has been exploring the myth of Demeter for over a year—a story in which various women and goddesses are intricately involved. This myth delves into themes of violence, the pain of loss, and the underworld, but it also speaks of the joy of reunion, healing, and life itself. In this exhibition, through visual artworks, we address many of the nuances within the myth, such as healing, celebrating life, and the strength of the goddess. The collective exhibition draws on this myth to highlight how women are empowered both within and through the group itself. Its placement in a transitional space between classrooms invites students to engage in an intergenerational dialogue, calling them to initiation, to share the knowledge made possible by the bond of sisterhood.»
